With the advent of smartphones, tracking your health and managing your life is easier than ever.
While there are duds apps such as the $.99 iStethoscope Pro, companies
like Withings have created products like the $129 blood pressure cuff.
It connects to an iPhone or iPad and graphs your blood pressure over
time. This allows you see trends as well as share the data with your
doctor. Diabetes is also getting the mobile device treatment as
AgaMatrix has collaborated with Sanofil to create the iBGStar, a blood
glucose monitor that attaches to the iPhone. This device was recently
approved by the FDA.
Facebook Hopes to Supercharge its Online Advertising
Facebook appears to be poised to revolutionize online advertising, as they get ready to launch premium ads that will integrate social circles with advertisements.
These new ads will display which of your friends have ‘liked’ a company
as well as use their comments alongside advertising copy to market to
friends. Facebook has yet to say anything about this very personalized
approach, but expectation is that they will address it at a marketing
launch next week.

iPad vs. IPAD: Showdown in China
The iPad represents 70 percent of tablet sales in China, but how much
longer the Apple product will reign supreme may be finite. A Shanghai
court has rejected a proposal that would have frozen the sale of iPads
in the city until a similar case is ruled on in Shenzhen. Apple remains locked in a copyright battle over use of the “IPAD” name
with the China-based affiliate of Proview International Holdings. The
case centers on Proview’s initial purchase of the copyright on the name
iPad, Apple claims that they bought the name from Proview in 2009.
Ruling in the case is expected on February 29.
